Tyler Linderbaum scouting report

Excellent speed and athleticism. Best in the position group. Great burst. Has excellent lateral quickness to move all across the line with his assignments. Very quick snap set – can barely tell he’s the center. Very strong upper body. Controls the play very well. Excellent brute. Plays much bigger than he’s listed.

Very strong anchor. Shows some awesome bend. Strong hand placement. Helps his dominance. Excellent work on the inside shoulders. Grabs defenders by the pads and stays active to keep them engaged. Very strong hands. Handles finesse and power with relative ease.

Strong pass blocker. Drops into his set well. Very, very strong run blocker. Strongest in the class. Gets downhill with ease. Impacts the second level routinely. Iowa played a man blocking scheme primarily and relied on Linderbaum to call sets at the line of scrimmage. Picks up and reads very well. Very smart and heady prospect.

Pre-Combine projection

Tyler Linderbaum has excellent athletic ability combined with brute strength. This makes him a dangerous prospect. He’s best suited for a man blocking scheme at the next level, already very familiar with the protections and schemes that are run out of it.

We like Linderbaum in the first round, though there is a chance he could slip into the early second because of his position. However, he’s potentially the best center in the NFL at some point of his career. His skills are astonishing.
